For those of you wondering what all those strange green sticks are in a couple of our fields, they are Heritage Apple Trees. We planted them last year (2020) in our Whapplegate Orchard. There are 21 varieties, some of which date back to the 1600s. They have been expertly picked by a Devon company, called “Adams Apples”, to match our soil conditions and climate. We are sure our bees in our Whapplegate Apiary (westsussexhoney.co.uk) will enjoy pollinating them every Spring.
